Welcome to Hadstock Farm!

Thank you for visiting our site

Hadstock Farm has been in our family for six generations and is our pride and joy! We specialise in growing daffodils and tulips, among many other bulb varieties, to keep us busy throughout the year.

Please join our emailing list or like us on Facebook to keep up to date with the seasonal happenings on the farm, bulb availability and when we will be opening our gates for pick your own and tulip viewing days!

Also, we are very excited to announce that over the past year, Country Calendar has been visiting our farm and getting to know the family. We hope you watch our episode airing on the 10th of November 2019 for an insider’s perspective of the farm.

The Chamberlain Family have been on Hadstock Farm since 1878, and we definitely plan to keep the tradition going for everyone to enjoy! The farm is still very much family run with extra hands coming in to help out for harvest.

All our flowers are handpicked and boxed on site. Our main priority is producing fresh, high quality flowers and bulbs for florists and markets around New Zealand. We aim to bring a spot of yellow joy into every household! To buy our flowers directly, please check out Miss Feaver Florist on the corner of Hills Road and Edgeware Road in Christchurch. We also sell our main bulb varieties there too.

Bulbs will be available for purchase through this website from December 2019.

Producing bulbs requires a lot of work, keeping the family busy all year round.

During the summer, we dig our bulbs up from the paddocks, wash, hot water treat and grade, making sure we select our highest quality bulbs for our customers. We reserve some of our bulbs to be cooled to encourage early flowering.

At the end of summer and autumn, we start planting the bulbs. The daffodil bulbs start flowering in winter and continue through spring. We aim to have continuous blooming from June with different varieties staggering the season. Once the daffodils have come through, we then move on to tulips, bluebells and other varieties. Then the cycle continues.

If you would like to hear more from us, then please register for any updates. We love sharing what goes on with our farm.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us for any questions or orders.

Our bulbs will be available for order in December 2019.
